There's also another contest for best sex blogs. You can vote for Sex-Kitten.net as Best Overall Sex Blog and Best Group Blog here ('nominations' are the first round of voting, so we need many votes to move onto the final voting!)

In Celebration of Banned Books Week, Ephemera Bound Publishing Donates Books To Libraries

Banned Books Week celebrates the freedom to read and stresses the importance of ensuring the availability of books, including those with unorthodox or unpopular viewpoints, to all who wish to read them. Among the most active in this celebration are libraries which participate in the battle for intellectual freedom year round. Yet libraries are faced with specific difficulties in this battle: both the community challenges to books and the problematic budget restraints.

As a small press which believes in and operates under the pursuit of intellectual freedom, Ephemera Bound Publishing celebrated Banned Books Week with a donation of books to libraries.

Publisher Derek Dahlsad says, "Most libraries, whether public or operated by a private organization, no matter how well funded, face tight decisions over how to improve their collection within their budget. We hope our contributions can assist them."

The small press dontated 40 books and plans to continue the donations next year. "It's something we are personally committed to doing on an on-going basis. As publishers, we recognize the power and value a library holds in any community," says Deanna Dahlsad, publisher. "Libraries were key in both our lives as avid readers. Without libraries, I never would have been able to afford my need to read -- libraries make satiation possible for so many. As a small press, it's what we can do to show our support," she added.

The books have been donated with the hope that they will be placed on the shelves of the libraries they were sent to, but also with the understanding that if the work doesn't fit the library's collection or policies, the library may give the book to their 'friends of the library' association booksale or otherwise use it to raise additional funds for the library's collections.

Banned Books Week: Celebrating the Freedom to Read is observed during the last week of September each year. Observed since 1982, the annual event reminds Americans not to take this precious democratic freedom for granted.

With so many new writers, a quick reminder:

Authors with adult or sex blogs are encouraged to submit their blogs to the Sex-Kitten Feed.

Any blog feeds (RSS, ATOM etc), including MySpace feeds work. And sites that use a blog format for publication which have feeds are also accepted.

To do so, simply go here and add your information. Then click 'preview' and if everything looks OK, hit submit and your site will be included.

All we ask that you add either a small script or link back to the feed to encourage more traffic for us all. The script helps keep your content fresh in between updates, but a small image or text link works too.

TE Thrills Reviewer!

Carrie White reviewed TE and wrote the following:

"Of course, we mustn't ignore the real tag line: Tit-Elation leads to masturbation. For sure, this couldn't be more accurate. In the comfort of your own home, this gloriously attractive website brings the 'hottest, steamiest sex stories straight to your door.' And, get this! Not just via a website but also through print anthologies. Yum!"

"You receive Quality. Just that. Well, not just that, obviously. A damn sight more, too, but that little word, I believe, surpasses Quantity in importance. Wouldn't you rather know that all the stories that you are able to search through are top notch and not thrown together with poor grammar, storylines and originality? Wouldn't you rather have access to new authors alongside recognised talent?"

"As well as this assurance you also have the joy of knowing that new works are posted daily, the site is easy to navigate and you get the chance to vote on every work you read. Oh! And I mustn't forget the mind blowing choice of categories to suit every sexual taste."

These are just a few excerpts, read the rest here!

We are happy to announce that TE editor, Roxanne has had her baby boy!

Dance of Submission

Jude Mason's New Book!

Dance of Submission is the latest novella by Jude Mason, a favorite author here at TE, and it's received positive reviews, such as this one at TCM and
this one at Romance Junkies.

In Dance of Submission, an experienced slave is passed from one owner to another, and must learn how to please her new master. With the help of the eldest slave in the harem, Jade learns how to dance for her master's pleasure.

You can buy the book in the Sex-Kitten.net store. And it is available via Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

The book, From the Real Side of the Picket Fence by Suburban Diva (aka Tracey Henry), that we published, is in today's top 100 at Barnes & Noble (currently at number 41!)

(To cruise the Best Sellers -- and we may move up! -- Click here)

Thanks to Marsha Rogers, the editor, and Bee Lavender for saying "Funny, punny observations about suburban family life from a modern Erma Bombeck" too!

I can hardly stand it! Our Book in Top 100 at Barnes & Noble! It's only been out a few days -- not even at Amazon yet!

RichardsRealm gives Tit-Elation a great review!

Here's just some of what Nicola had to say:

"Tit Elation leads to masturbation" apparently. This website isn't your run of the mill hardcore porn site. It is stimulating and provocative in a completely innovative way. If you have had your fill of the same old same old hardcore porn videos and are ready to try a new approach to porn then this site might just be for you.

Tit Elation exclusively offers written erotica. The stories are skilfully written and cover the whole nine yards of porn niches."

You can read the rest here!

New Publisher Journal

As we move into book publishing, we've started a new blog, newpublisherjournal.com, which explores our thoughts on the publishing industry.

Some of our thoughts have been getting attention. Here's Derek to explain:

Ah, well, last week I posted a list of ideas for improving small bookstores, based on a conversation D and I had on our last Wisconsin drive.

Anyways, I submitted it two places -- Plastic.com and Kottke.org, and both places picked it up. Kottke.org is a blogger's blog, and lots of people read it -- in the first few hours there, we had 300-400 clicks to that specific entry (it's brought over 2000 clicks in the past 24hrs). Plastic brought in some traffic, but not nearly as much:

Since those two, the link has been picked up by a number of other blogs; the most notable:

MSNBC (it's short-bits stolen from bloggers, but I won't complain :)

A record-store blog that suggests it's readers replace the word 'book' with 'record' and take that at it's value to them

A library blog in Portuguese suggests libraries take note.

A small-business themed news site has it linked under "Marketing"

And Rovidica, another big linkblog, noticed us too.

** Authors at Sex-Kitten **

Sex-Kitten.net has just published it's latest issue on authors, writing & books. It's called Author, Author.

A few of our Tit-Elation authors were included in the Author Round Table Discusions too. (Those were the smart kiddos who replied to the Tit-Elation newsletter call *wink*) So look for them!

At the bottom of each article/piece, there is a 'Discuss This' button which will take you to the message boards where you to post comments & read what others have to say. Feel free to join in!

There's a silly Dirty Limericks Contest right now, if any of you are interested... Rules are found on this page, near the bottom.

Our publishing division, Ephemera Bound Publishing, is beginning to take shape! While our business has been in producing online comment for several years, expanding into actual ink-and-paper books is a huge step for our operations. Ephemera Bound will publish both reprints and new books in the same sort of subjects our online ventures dabble in: collecting, femininity, and erotica. The upcoming premiere edition of the Best of Tit-Elation will be through Ephemera Bound Publishing. We have several reprints almost ready for publishing, several authors in the wings with brand-new writings, and a number of tie-ins related to our existing websites. News on the various projects will appear on their related websites, in future editions of this newsletter, and the upcoming brand-spanking-new Ephemera Bound website.

We are proud to announce the winner of the BDSM Art Inspired Erotica Contest!

The Grand Prize Winner is by Jude Mason. Her story was the unanimous selection of all three judges. Jude's story story is titled "A Dream, Or..." Look for it to appear as a feature on both Sex-Kitten.Net & our new erotica site, Tit-Elation.com, soon! Jude's website is My Haven.

All the judges were so impressed with "The Brotherhood" by C.B. Calsing that we had to award it an Honorable Mention. We will be featuring that story on our adult sites when the erotica story site is launched.

Congrats to both authors, & thank you to the many authors who submitted to the contest!

03/03/2005, 21:25:37

Whadda ya know? We're catching up with the rest of the internet! Programmer Derek has been working on RSS feeds, adding them to existing sites and developing new uses for them.

The coolest new RSS feature in the Equilibri-Yum family is the Sex~Kitten Feed at http://feed.sex-kitten.net. Rather than just giving away a RSS feed, we're created an aggregator to pull sexually oriented content from other people's sexblogs into a one-stop-shopping location. If you know of a sexblog you like, or if you run your own, go to the feed and submit the site's RSS link. On the other hand, if you don't know of anybody else's sexblogs, we've got javascript feeds for your websites. Add a short line of code to your webpage, and you could have continually-updated content added to your pages. RSS seems to be the wave of the future -- and we're happy to be a part of it today!

02/16/2005, 22:13:25

This week marked the launch of a new Equilibri-Yum creation -- The Infomercantile (http://infomercantile.com). It's a news satire site, updated throughout the day as the writers come up with funny ideas. Well, *one* writer so far -- Azrael Brown (aka Derek Dahlsad) is the only contributor now, but things will expand as traffic increases.

It's not exactly a "want" for writers, but those of you who have websites can partake in this offer: The Infomercantile is offering free adspace to sites that link back to it, in order to spread the word about The Infomercantile's existence. Email azraelbrown@infomercantile.com for more information.

02/05/2005, 10:46:45

Thank you, Kitschy Kitschy Coo submitters! Last week, we had only one repeat author (due to the late release of the newsletter; more on that below). Still, we're just barely keeping up with the next day's deadline -- if you've got a collection, collectible, thoughts on something kitschy, or anything else, email info@kitschy-kitschy-coo.com and we'll get your writing online!

Also, since this newsletter was started it hasn't been mailed out on a schedule; a slight programming glitch was causing delays, but that *fingers crossed* should be fixed now. You now can expect the newsletter to be waiting in your emailbox every Friday morning!

01/31/2005, 16:01:04

Kitschy-Kitschy-Coo, our collectibles & pop culture daily newsletter, has been sliding of late. There's no content lined up for the next week -- so we need your help. If you'd like an idea for the type of content on the site, you can view the archives at http://kitschy-kitschy-coo.com/archive.php but pretty much any anecdote or editorial column with a pop culture slant will do. It could be short, 200-300 words, or much longer. If you have an idea, have something already written, or would like input, email us at info@kitschy-kitschy-coo.com. While there's no pay, all columnists get a 'writer's page' with content/links of your choosing (subject to editor approval, but we're easy), and the added advantage of being front-page featured for the entire day, and your writing being sent directly to the inboxes of eager readers. Since we've got 20+ slots to fill each month, there's plenty of opportunity to have your works up on the site.

In other news, Equilibri-yum has relaunched a revised WeHaveYourCollectibles.com, melding a content-driven blog with a storefront. We're proud of the results, and just want to share with all of you!

01/07/2005, 21:21:10

Welcome to our newly launched website. Please take the time to subscribe to the mailing list -- it'll really be worth your while, especially if you're a writer, or want to be one.

Thanks for visiting, and hope you come back soon!
